“I only know two very real evils in life: remorse and illness. The only good is the absence of those evils.”
Prince Andrey Bolkonsky is the only character of Leo Tolstoy’s “War and Peace”, not having a clear prototype. But he was quite certain about his beliefs and principles. Dreaming of deeds and glory, he was fighting for the victory of the Russian army, openly admiring the genius of Napoléon as a military leader. However, after his heroism on the field of Austerlitz he was wounded in body and soul, regretting of that former admiration of Bonaparte’s talent. Our “Bolkonsky” room is a cozy nook for those who want to enjoy the lamps’ soft light at the table among the photographs of the Leo Tolstoy, as well as illustrations of his immortal novel. And then you can climb upstairs and let yourself dive into reflections about the eternal.
